— Accreditation & Authorization

Our standing & commitment.

Shimba Theological Institute is incorporated in the State of New York, United States of America, and authorized to operate as a religious and theological educational institution.

— Authorization

A faith-based institution authorized by the State of New York.

STI operates as a faith-based institution dedicated to equipping believers for Christian ministry, theological education, restorative justice, chaplaincy, leadership, evangelism, and community transformation through biblically grounded instruction.

In the United States, accreditation for religious institutions is a voluntary process. Religious and theological schools may operate legally under religious exemptions provided by state laws, especially when offering programs intended for ministry, church leadership, chaplaincy, and theological education. Government agencies do not provide theological endorsement or determine doctrinal validity, as matters of religion are protected under the constitutional principle of separation of church and state.

Shimba Theological Institute is committed to maintaining high academic, ethical, and spiritual standards in theological education and ministry training. Our programs are designed primarily for religious, ministerial, and Christian service purposes.

— Student Disclosures

What students should understand.

As a religious institution, STI's educational programs are intended to prepare students for ministry and Christian service rather than secular licensure or government-regulated professions. Therefore, students should understand the following:

  • STI may not participate in U.S. Federal Student Aid programs.

  • STI is not authorized to administer GI Bill educational benefits unless otherwise approved by the appropriate authorities.

  • Acceptance or transferability of credits and degrees is always determined by the receiving institution, employer, denomination, or organization.

  • Some employers, institutions, licensing boards, or government agencies may not recognize religious degrees or certificates issued by faith-based institutions.

  • STI cannot guarantee employment, transfer of credits, or acceptance of degrees by third parties.

— Mission Statement

"To provide biblically grounded theological education and practical ministry training that equips believers to impact the world through the Gospel of Jesus Christ."

— Vision Statement

"To raise spiritually mature leaders who transform churches, communities, and nations through Christian education, discipleship, restorative justice, and compassionate ministry."
